Norah began her career as a hair stylist 30 years ago at the Robert Lewis Studio of Hair Concepts cosmetology school in Silver Spring, MD. Since then, she has received multiple certifications from some of the hair industry’s leading resources for higher education, such as Redken Exchange 5th Avenue (NYC), Bumble and Bumble (NYC), Goldwell Color, Hair Dreams and others. Her certifications allowed her to advance her techniques in hair design, hair color, color correction, and strand-to-strand extensions. As a professional makeup artist, Norah specializes in combined hair and makeup artistry for weddings and special events.
Norah has worked in several high-end salons in Miami, FL and the Washington, DC area, where she developed her singular style and ability to work with hair types of many ethnicities. Her unique ability to identify the hair needs of each individual, including hair health, sets her apart in the industry.
Many TV personalities on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Public Broadcasting Stations, and CNBC, as well as several movie stars, have benefited from Norah’s expertise. Her many client referrals have resulted in her providing services to heads of state, ambassadors, and politicians. Her clientele is global, and Norah receives appointments from places as far as Japan, South Africa, France, England, and Ireland.
Norah gives back to the community through volunteer work with several organizations. She has groomed underprivileged women who have turned their lives around and are preparing for job interviews. She works with Children’s Hospital and several facilities that perform plastic surgery, is a certified teacher for the Look Good Feel Better program, and teaches cancer patients how to cope with appearance related side effects of their treatments to regain their sense of confidence and self-esteem.
Norah Critzos served on the District of Columbia Board of Barber and Cosmetology from 2013-2017.
